Panasonic TC-P55VT30: A Quick Review

Posted by mandelasanjay On December - 10 - 2011

To cater to the growing popularity of 3D TV’s, Panasonic has come up with a wonderful product in the form of Panasonic TC-P55VT30. It is quite applaud able that in its quest to save the environment it has removed Mercury and lead from the panel. Let us now have a look at what all, this product has got to offer us-

Pros it offers

The picture quality it provides is simply superb. Its black level performance is also superior. Also it can easily manage the 1080p/24 sources or the bright rooms. The shadow detailing is also pretty good. The Panasonic management expects that this product should be a market leader owing to its perfect picture quality. Apart from this, Panasonic has provided internet facility in this product, and the good thing is that the feature is pretty simple to use.

In fact the internet suite it provides is very content-rich. It also provides a pair of active 3D glasses to you. A Wi-Fi dongle is an added advantage. The styling is simple with a single window pane.

Cons it has

A major factor worth having a look is its price. It is priced much more than the other products offered by other 3D TV brands in the market (though that is counter-balanced by the great picture quality it provides). Also the plasma TV’s launched last year lost their black level performance over the time (which was pretty fast), so this would be a factor worth watching.

Also it consumes more power than the current plasma TV options available in the market. There is also scope of improvement in its colors (it is not as good as in some of the other plasmas).

The Verdict

The superb picture quality with great plasma black levels makes it the highest performing plasma TV of the year 2011, though the cost and power consumption could be quite a deterrent. However, if you do not mind spending a little extra bucks for an un-matchable picture quality and 3D experience, this could be your best bet. Also it is the best in the PVT-30 series.
